BUILDERS CLUB CONTEST TIME

Well the time has come to put you scrapbooks together, polish up your speech and get your essay written. The Speech, Scrapbook and Essay entries must be in my hands to judge no later than March 18th.

Remember there are judging giudelines to the entries and can be found on the website www.cnhbuilders.org in the forms section.

Good luck to all the entries.

Let other Builders Club's in the California-Nevada-Hawaii District know about your service projects and the great work you are doing for your school and community. Send me photos and a description of you special project and I will post it on the website, but remember if you take photos I will need to have a copy of the Photo Release Form for all students.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA FIRESTORMS

I know that many of our Builders Club Members and their families have been impacted by the current Firestorms in Southern California. But as Builders Club members we stand ready to assist in whatever way we can to help communities get through this ordeal.

Check with your Kiwanis Advisor and see what you can do as a club to help in your communities.

ESSAY CONTEST

The entry this year for the Essay Contest was submitted by Kristi Hsiao, a Builders Club member at Oak Avenue Middle School. Kristi placed in the competition as follows:

First Place Cal-Nev-Ha District
Second Place Kiwanis International Builders Club Contest


SCRAPBOOK CONTEST

The scrapbooks this year were awesome, the hard work that went in to them was truly a work of art and amazing. The scrapbook is the history of your clubs, members and service projects to school and community that you did during the year. The entries this year was not easy to judge, the scrapbooks were colorful, well designed and great photos of the projects and socials.

The winner of the Scrapbook contest for the 2006-07 year was Hilo Intermediate School Builders Club of Hilo, Hawaii. They placed in the scrapbook competition as follows:

Third Place Kiwanis International Builders Club Contest

Getting ready for the new year

Hope all of you are having a great summer, start thinking about your service projects to school, community and nation.

Your club dues will be due by November 1st 2007 to receive a "Early Bird Banner Patch", the dues deadline is December 1st, after the 1st your Builders Club will be placed on SUSPENSION if dues are not paid.

Start taking your photos for the Scrapbook Contest, also your Speeches and Essays for the Speech and Essay Contest. The contest forms are in the form section of the website.
